WATERTOWN, MA (November 3, 2010) – Corey McPherson Nash (Corey) hosted “Making the Most with Mobile” on November 3rd, an event focused on how to enhance business by using mobile thoughtfully. The 21st century topic was juxtaposed with the event venue of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, founded in the 18th century.
Corey convened varied and knowledgeable panelists to discuss how mobile enables content, context and convergence – early VOIP entrepreneur and Commonwealth Capital Ventures Partner, Alex Laats, Cushing Academy Headmaster, Dr. James Tracy, HBR group publisher, Josh Macht and moderator, Matt Cutler, CMO of internet video tracking start-up, Visible Measures, all spoke at the event.
With Corey’s past and present clients in attendance, the conversation focal point was the application of mobile at every business step. Alex Laats observed, “the Internet is the value, web is the tool, and mobile broadband is a unifier.” With so many sources to choose from Josh Macht pointed to the convergence between multiple devices and that “content is the important piece, not the device.” However, Dr. James Tracy declared adaptability to be the chief asset when it comes to mobile, and schools must be comfortable making the change quickly. Ultimately Matt Cutler, the event’s moderator, noted, “Mobile represents change, radical change. You need an outside perspective to help you see beyond the weeds.”
