Watertown, MA. September 24, 2009 –- Chris Klaehn, Partner and Director of Brand Strategy, and Ryan Evans, Director of Experience Design at Corey McPherson Nash, a leading national branding and design firm based in Watertown, Massachusetts, will deliver a presentation on social media today to the MIT WebPub user group. The WebPub group helps web professionals at MIT and beyond stay up to date on trends and news of note. Its audience includes web designers, developers, writers, and producers at all levels, from beginners to seasoned publishers. The group’s goal is to provide continuing education to its members. Klaehn and Evans frequently speak about the branding implications of social media.
Today's discussion will focus on the relevancy and growing ubiquity of this relatively new medium. Klaehn and Evans will highlight specific examples of how tools such as blogs, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and Twitter have become growing components of the communications mix.
"As social media becomes more pervasive in both our personal and professional lives, organizations need to develop strategies for using it to support their goals and objectives," says Ryan, who worked with MIT's Media Lab prior to joining Corey. "Every business, school and institution needs to be aware of how social media not only projects who they are but engages existing and new audiences in an ongoing dialog."
Corey McPherson Nash uses social media to project who they are, how they think, and what they're up to. They also use it to tell both current and prospective clients how they define thoughtful branding and design.
